As a church, we collect food and personal care items monthly for the Flushing Christian Outreach Center.
God's Work, Our Hands was started in 2014 and traditionally takes place on the second Sunday in September. It's a state-wide day of community service to celebrate who we are as the Evangelical Lutheran Church in America – one church, freed in Christ to serve and love our neighbor.
In the past, we've collected school supplies and filled backpacks for Lutheran World Relief, we've packed supply boxes to send overseas to American troops, and served lunch at the North End Soup Kitchen.
We hold an annual rummage sale and donate the proceeds, as well as run our own booth at Relay For Life Genesee County.
Every year, from the middle of April through Mother's Day, we gather new or gently used baby items and supplies for mothers through Heartbeat of Greater Flint.
Our church volunteers prepared and served lunch for a local Habitat for Humanity building site.
